En este lugar se podrá encontrar una completa y renovada exposición de la historia natural y cultural de la región. En este museo hay salas de ecología, geología, paleontología, arqueología e historia regional, con temas como la conquista española, la Guerra del Pacífico, el período salitrero y el surgimiento urbano. Además el museo ofrece servicios al público de Biblioteca, Cine museo, exposiciones temporales, entre otros.

Regional museum of Antofagasta

Museo Geológico Profesor Humberto Fuenzalida Villegas

Se encuentra ubicada en el departamento de Geociencia de la universidad Católica del Norte. Posee una muestra de minerales de la región y del mundo, restos fósiles de un saurópodo, un herbívoro de cuello y cola largos, además tiene tres salas de Geología General, Paleontología y Mineralogía, donde se encuentran rocas, minerales y fósiles del Norte grande y Norte chico de Chile.

Geological museum Teacher Humberto Fuenzalida Villegas

It is located in the department of Geoscience of the Catholic university of the North. There possesses a sample of minerals of the region and of the world, fossil remains of a saurópodo, a herbivore of neck and tail lengths, in addition it has three rooms of General Geology, Paleontology and Mineralogy, where there are rocks, minerals and fossils of the big North and North boy of Chile.

Museo Augusto Capdeville Rojas

Es un museo independiente de la Municipalidad de Taltal, el cual reabrió sus puertas al público el 10 de septiembre del 2001, orientando una muestra a la divulgación del patrimonio Arqueológico e Histórico de Taltal.

El museo funciona en el edificio de la Ex Gobernación del Departamento de Taltal el que ha sido declarado Patrimonio Histórico de la comuna.

Museo Histórico y Natural Mejillones

La creación de este museo nace a partir de la idea de darle una mayor importancia al Museo del Mar que se creo en el año 1879 en la cuidad. En el año 1997 el Museo tomo mayor importancia con la exposición de Historia y temas relacionados con la Aduanas, con esa idea se ocuparon las dependencias del Edificio Aduanero, en donde hoy funciona el museo.

The creation of this museum is born from the idea of giving a importance to the Museum of the Mar that I believe in the year 1879 in it take care. In the year 1997 the Museum major volume importance with the exhibition of History and topics related to the Customs, to this idea there dealt the dependences of the Customs Building, where today the museum works.

Museo Ferroviario Baquedano

Este museo esta inserto en una ex-maestranza de ferrocarriles, los que funcionaban a fines del siglo XIX, donde además se encuentra una Casa de Maquinas del ferrocarril que era del Estado del país con 16 locomotoras para apreciar. También conserva herramientas, talleres, y algunas locomotoras Alemanas y norteamericanas.

Museo del Salitre Maria Elena

El museo comienzo a funcionar en los años 80 por medio de los esfuerzos de Claudio Castellón, aficionado a la Arqueología, quien comienza a recolectar objetos arqueológicos provenientes de la Aldea de Chacance, los que son resguardados y exhibidos en una modesta sala que en años siguientes dio paso a un espacio mayor, incorporando el valioso y local patrimonio salitrero. El año 2003, gracias a la gestión municipal, un equipo de especialistas en museos mejora su exhibición, dándole además una misión moderna y más acorde al emplazamiento del museo en un área de gran significación pampina y salitrera.
